Delicious Colombian food! This place is almost always packed which is always a good indicator of good food! Depending on the time of the day, we usually order calentado for breakfast/brunch, pandeja paisa along side with empanadas, arepas de choclo, or their sancoccho. My husband who is usually not a a fan of beans absolutely devours La Placita's beans and he always raves about their arepa. Their food is cooked fresh and always hits the spot. Great prices and portion size too! Only downside- Since the place is almost always packed and busy, it can get a little hectic. There are people waiting in line for pick up or to order to go at the counter and if you're planning on having a sit down dinner, you better make sure that the waitresses acknowledges you.

This is one of my favorite Colombian restaurants, they have it all from full plates , desserts, and amazing baked goods! The empanadas are amazing- meat , chicken and cheese . They are a must try . On the weekends expect a little bit of a wait , since they get busy , but they have enough staff to take care of all clients .

We've been visiting La Placita for years and it's become a staple when we're in South Florida. The prices are great for the portion sizes. I dream about the arepa choclo - it's the reason I keep coming back. This corn "pancake" with fresh, squeaky, cheese is one of a kind. Be sure to try a cortado or colada. Their cafecito is unmatched.

The food was delicious!!! And my "pan de bono" came fresh out of the oven. If you want a hearty Colombian breakfast, look no further than here. They are also a bakery so don't be surprised with the line.

Great Colombian food. I came for the first time on a Tuesday for lunch looking for some warm and hearty meal. This restaurant was busy for lunch, but has a good amount of tables and a big counter to order to go. The service was also pretty good the entire time I was there. We first started with some beef Colombian empanadas which they were really good with the picante. We also order the house oatmeal water which was also pretty good (needed a bit more sugar for my taste) . For lunch I had the beef sancocho with rice and it was packed of beef, potatoes, corn and plantain. The broth was very tasty as well. Definitely recommend. My son had the kids chicken tenders and fries which I thought it was a pretty big plate , he enjoyed it as well. Definitely recommend and will be back to try the dinner options.

Yup. This is the place for an authentic Colombian meal. I come here for the fresh food and the delicious bakery items time and time again. Every time I eat a Calentado, or an arepa con queso I always curse my ancestors and fate for not being born in a Colombian family LOL - it's just really that good. Through and through the quality of the food is always on point, the flavors are great and the price point is just right. Sometimes I wonder if they are inflation proof? Every day they have a different lunch special that isn't posted on a board or anything, so if you are dining in then make sure you ask. Because you will receive an abnormally large portion for a cheap price - usually $8/$9. Absolutely worth it. One of the main reasons I didn't give them 5 stars because the service always leaves much to be desired. Albeit they are quite busy, but a smile here and there and more attentive service can't really hurt. Also, I've been here for dinner and it's a big miss for me. It seems like they lose their pizzaz to make quality meals for dinner time because they aren't that busy. So I would avoid eating here at dinner at any cost. Some of my favorite dishes are the calentado (for breakfast), empanadas con carne, pan de queso, breaded chicken. Pretty much anything you get here will be delicious. If you do come here, expect great food at an awesome price, but don't put much expectation on high quality service: you might be disappointed. But do not sleep on La Placita!
